2010 Jackson County Plastic Round-up
Fri & Sat, Oct 8-9, 9:00 - 4:00

Nursery pots, bubble wrap, snack food bags, cassettes, discs, lawn chairs and toys are among the long list of plastics accepted for recycling at the 3rd annual Jackson County Plastic Round-up. Gather plastic from your home, garden, garage and business to keep it out of the landfill, and have it recycled into new materials.

Two locations:
Jackson County Expo, 1 Peninger Road, Central Point (Gate 1 near Pine/Biddle)
Ashland National Guard Armory, 1420 E. Main Street, Ashland

Plastic should be pre-sorted into 3 categories: soft plastic, hard plastic and nursery plastic.

There will be a fee of $5.00 for residential cars and pick-up trucks; the fee for businesses and large loads is $5.00 per yard. Businesses and large loads (larger than a pick-up truck) can reduce the rate by picking up supersacks in advance to pack and transport plastic.

Last year over 18 tons of plastic were diverted from the landfill in two days from more than 700 cars and trucks.
